Background

Julia Hosie is a registered clinical psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society. Julia is an LGBTQIAP+ friendly practitioner and adopts a non-judgemental, pragmatic and holistic approach to working with clients.  She has worked with a variety of inpatient and outpatient clients in both community and forensic settings. She has experience working with a number of clinical presentations and psychosocial difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders, schizophrenia, stress, self-esteem, assertiveness, anger management, problematic/offending behaviours. She has undertaken training and has experience in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, emotion focused therapy, social and coping skills training.

Bachelor of Business – Monash University
Graduate Diploma in Psychology – Monash University
Honours Degree of Bachelor of Science – Monash University
Doctor of Psychology (Clinical and Forensic Psychology) – Swinburne University of Technology

Fees 

The cost of a 50-minute consultation with Julia is $210.00, which is payable at the end of the session by cash, EFTPOS, or credit card. If referred by a G.P. along with a Mental Health Care Plan, or by a psychiatrist, clients receive a rebate of $129.55 per session via Medicare. This will be processed at the end of each session. Up to 20 Medicare-rebated sessions can be claimed per calendar year. Alternatively, clients may wish to claim the consultation fee under private health cover, if this option is available to them.
